Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Gran Via!
shirt, juicy couture; cardigan, banana republic; jeans, true religion; flats, staccato

I wish it was my twenty-first birthday all over again! (I celebrated it in March) But, this weekend I helped Madrid celebrate Gran Via’s 100th birthday! It was a complete city-wide holiday. The blue carpet was rolled out over the street on Gran Via for everyone to enjoy and live music was played. They even had an enormous fake birthday cake! The streets were packed and it was a wonderful way for the city to celebrate especially because most people had the day off. At night I did my own celebrating at Bazaar, a cheap and chic restaurant in Madrid’s Chueca neighborhood with dinner, dessert, and red wine. Feliz Cumpleanos Gran Via!
